Pueblo, Colorado
My name is John Madrid, and I am proud to announce my candidacy for President of the Colorado Football Officials Association.
I have officiated high school football in Colorado for more than 24 years, working as both a Referee and Back Judge. During that time, I served 10 years as the Pueblo Area Assigner and six years as the Pueblo Area Director, recently completing my second term. I have also had the privilege of officiating four State Championship games, most recently the 4A State Championship in 2022.
I was born and raised in Pueblo and earned my bachelor’s degree in Nursing from USC. Professionally, I serve as the Associate Executive Director of an agency that provides services and support to children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
As CFOA President, I would remain committed to maintaining the integrity, professionalism, and high standards of high school football officiating throughout Colorado. A particular priority for me would be strengthening the recruitment and retention of new officials. I believe our veteran officials can play an important role in that effort through mentorship, support, and leadership that helps newer officials build confidence and develop their skills on the field.
It would be an honor to serve CFOA as President, and I would sincerely appreciate your support.
